Trouble in the Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party deepend on Friday night with senior party leader and state cabinet minister Ashwani Kumar Choubey resigned from the core committee of the party. This has come as a big set back for BJP in Bihar ahead of state assembly polls hours after BJP state unit president C P Thakur resigned from the post on Friday afternoon after his son Vivek Thakur was denied ticket from Bankipur seat to contest the upcoming assembly polls.

Unhappy over ticket distribution, Choubey resigned from the core committee to express his protest against some vested interests in the party. Choubey told rediff.com 'Yes,I had resigned from the core committee of the party. There was no sense to be in the core committee when decision of ticket distribution was taken by one or two leader."

His anger was visible when he said that party has given ticket to people on some seats ignoring genuine and committed party workers.

Choubey, a minister in the NItish Kumar led government, is considered a powerful BJP leader, who enjoys strong support in Bhagalpur and its adjoining districts.
