Bharatiya Janata Party's Bihar unit president C P Thakur has agreed to withdraw his resignation after the party high command assured him that his grievances will be addressed.

Thakur had resigned from his post on Friday after his son Vivek was denied a ticket from Bankipur seat to contest the upcoming assembly polls. Thakur had refused to take part in the election campaign and said that he would discuss the future course of action with his supporters.

Thakur was reportedly upset after the BJP top brass decided to hand over Digha constituency to its alliance partner Janata Dal-United without consulting him.

Both Digha and Bankipur are in Patna and they are considered strongholds of the BJP for the party's urban support base.

"I will withdraw my resignation and will continue on this post," Thakur said after a long conversation with the party's top leaders.

Earlier, Thakur had refused to withdraw his resignation and party president Nitin Gadkari had summoned him to Delhi to sort out the issue.

A BJP leader close to Thakur told rediff.com that Thakur is likely to withdraw his resignation in a day or two, after he meets party president Gadkari.
