How Sunni Board intends to fight its case in SC

Ahead of its crucial meeting on October 9 on the Ayodhya verdict, Sunni Central Waqf Board has made it clear that an appeal will be filed next month before the Supreme Court.

The Board has already made it clear that it will not go in for a compromise as suggested by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court, which delivered its verdict on the issue on Thursday last.

The legal team of the Board has decided to fight out the appeal before the Supreme Court on three crucial issues.

Firstly, they would quote the Shariat law, which makes it clear that no Muslim should compromise the inner walls of a mosque.

Secondly, they would also argue against the high court verdict, which said that faith was evidence in this case.

The Board has also decided to challenge the portion of the verdict, which stated that a mosque was built on the site, which was against the tenets of Islam. The main point for argument would, however, be that the Muslims had the mosque in their possession and that the idols were placed secretly inside the mosque.
