Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy continued his 'Odarpu yatra' (consolation tour) in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
Jagan began his tour from Pernamitta village and consoled a few families of those who died of shock following the death of his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in September last year.
The 37-year-old unveiled the statues of YSR at several villages and addressed the people. Highlighting the welfare schemes like tuition fees reimbursement, free power for farmers, old age pensions launched by his father, Jagan said the initiatives earned YSR a permanent place in the hearts of people. "I am thankful and indebted for the love and affection you are showering on me. Our beloved leader Rajasekhara Reddy has given me a huge family that comprises all of you. I will never be isolated as long as I have your support," he said.
Despite the Congress high command's reservations, Jagan resumed his yatra in Prakasam district on September 3, a day after the first death anniversary of his father. The Congress leadership, however, indicated that it may not take any action against him for now.
