Defence Minister A K Antony said on Sunday that the government viewed the violence unleashed by Maoists in some parts of the country very seriously.
"It is a serious issue and government is taking it very seriously," Antony told reporters on the sidelines of a function in Thiruvananthapuram Asked about military action to combat Naxals, Antony said he did not want a public debate on the strategy to end Maoist violence, adding, "I have my own opinion on this". |
"Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has taken a decision... that only the Home Ministry will react on the issue", Antony said.
