A complaint has been filed in a local court here for registration of a criminal case against former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Arjun Singh for allegedly releasing the then Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson in a wrong manner after the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy.
A separate complaint was filed against the then Bhopal Collector Moti Singh and Superintendent of Police Swaraj Puri on the charge of facilitating the safe exit of Anderson from here.
In the first private complaint in Chief Judicial Magistrate R G Singh's court, advocate Furkhan Khan demanded registration of a criminal case against Arjun Singh for allegedly allowing Anderson to leave Bhopal in a wrong manner.
The court has listed the matter for argument on June 29.
Another private complaint was filed by Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangthan's Convenor Abdul Jabbar against Moti Singh and Swaraj Puri for allegedly facilitating the safe exit of Anderson from Bhopal and demanded registration of criminal case against them.
The court will take up this complaint for argument on June 24.
After the argument, the court will decide whether the complaints are admissible for hearing or not.
In a related development, Communist Party of India's state secretary Shailendra Shaili has filed a complaint against Arjun Singh, Moti Singh and Swaraj Puri in the Hanuman Ganj Police Station accusing them of facilitating the unconstitutional release of Anderson and demanded registration of a case against the three.
