Goa's former tourism minister Fransisco Mickey Pacheco, was granted bail after he was arrested on Friday in a forgery case filed by his estranged wife, but will have to spend at least two more nights in judicial custody, pending verdict on his bail petition in Nadia Torrado death case on Monday.

Pacheco managed to get bail in the forgery case filed against him, but will be behind bars pending verdict on his bail petition in Nadia Torrado death case on Monday.

He was remanded to 14 days' judicial custody by the Magistrate on Friday after his police custody expired in the death case. On Friday morning Margao police arrested Pacheco in connection with the forgery case.

Pacheco's estranged wife, Sara, had filed complaint against him alleging that he had forged her signature to sell a flat. Police reopened probe into three more cases of forgery filed against Pacheco by Sara.

He moved anticipatory bail petition in three cases and managed to get a bail. In connection with one of the three cases he was arrested.

After a day-long court trials, Pacheco was shifted to Sada sub-Jail, where he will spend two more nights behind the bars.

District and sessions court on Friday evening heard arguments in the bail petition filed in Nadia death case and kept the order for Monday.

The former minister is in neck-deep trouble after his female friend Nadia died on May 30. The 28-year-old woman had consumed poison on May 15 and was shifted to various hospitals at Margao (Goa), Thane (Mumbai) and Chennai.
