The monsoon session of Parliament, scheduled to begin on July 26, is expected to be a stormy one with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Opposition seeking to pin down the Centre on issues like the hike in fuel prices and essential commodities, and Foreign Minister SM Krishna's Pakistan visit.

Senior BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday told rediff.com the party would unleash a vigorous campaign against the ruling United Progressive Alliance government.

When asked if there could be disruptions during Parliament proceedings, Naqvi said that the party had no intention to do so. "But it will depend upon the attitude of the ruling alliance," he said.

"Senior party leader L K Advani has called a meeting of the NDA constituents on July 26 where a decision would be taken on the issues to be raised during the session," he said.

The Lok Sabha would adjourn for the day on Monday after paying last respects to late Janata Dal-United leader Digvijay Singh, who was a minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

Among the bills, the government is keen to pass in the session include the civil nuclear liability bill, the women's reservation bill and a legislation on direct tax code.

The law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir and attack on security forces by Maoists is also likely to be raised by opposition parties.
