About 100 kg of suspected neogel explosives were recovered from a Tata Sumo vehicle during a routine check by a CRPF team near Khalmati police station in Lakhipur district of Assam on Wednesday.

Police said the explosives were carrying in a vehicle that was travelling from Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh to Along in Arunachal Pradesh vis Assam's Lakhimpur and Dhemaji district.

Police informed preliminary investigation indicated that the recovered explosives might be neogel, an ammonium-nitrate based material. However, it could be confirmed only after forensic analysis. Neogel explosives were used in May 13,2008 blasts in Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Police suspected involvement of the anti-talks faction of the banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), a Bodo tribe militant group.
