External Affairs Minister S M Krishna on Wednesday said he would be "delighted" to meet his Pakistani counterpart "if an occasion arises," as the two leaders share space at a global conference on Afghanistan in London.
Though no meeting has been formally scheduled between Krishna and Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Indian Minister indicated he was open to a meeting.
Asked whether he would be meeting Qureshi, Krishna said: "I will be delighted and happy to meet my Pakistani counterpart if an occasion arises. I am ready for the meeting".
The last meeting between the two foreign ministers took place in September last year in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting.
The two leaders had not met on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of States and Governments meeting in Port of Spain in November last year although both were at the summit venue for three days.
Indian officials had at that time contended that such meetings were not of much use. India had put the composite dialogue process with Pakistan on hold citing the lack of progress in the bringing the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks to book.
