Authorities running school say Ruchika was not expelled

Father Thomas, spokesman for Chandigarh Shimla diocese, under whose ambit the private school falls, said the Sacred Heart school did not expel Ruchika but her name was struck off the rolls for non-payment of fees for six months.

Her father S C Girhotra had alleged that she was expelled in September 1990. Meanwhile, Sub-divisional Magistrate Prerna Puri visited the school.

The Chandigarh administration had asked her to file a report within a week on the allegation against the school. The school principal was out.
