Andhra Pradesh Governor calls on Sonia

Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath to apprise her of the prevailing situation in Andhra Pradesh.

AICC sources confirmed that Sonia was keen to get a first-hand picture of administration, law and order and the political situation in the state.

Prime Minister assured Governor ESL Narasimhan for the urgent clearing of an irrigation project in Andhra region by July 2010.

Narasimhan met Pawan Kumar Bansal Water resources minister and also called up secretary to the water resources ministry.

 Narasimhan on Saturday discussed with Union Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrasekhar on an irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh.

Key agenda for the Governor visit to Delhi has been to expedite green signal and funds for the project.
