MP: IG transferred for 'praising Kasab'

February 03, 2010 16:21 IST

Praising Pakistani gunman Ajmal Amir Kasab proved costly to Special Armed Force Inspector General Rajendra Kumar with the Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday issuing his transfer orders posting him to the police headquarters.

"The state government has issued transfer orders of Kumar posting him to the headquarter in Bhopal," officials told PTI.

Kumar had cited the example of Kasab to buttress his point on importance of undergoing training with passion at a SAF training camp on Tuesday.

"If you are trained well you can do anything...An example is the Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab. He just studied up to class eight and had just one year training. With this he could operate weapons and gadgets and GPS devices. He could do this because he had passion and he trained very well...," he had said.

Kumar said that by giving Kasab's example, who went on a killing spree at Mumbai's Chhattrapati Shivaji Terminus station on November 26, 2008, his aim was just to motivate the jawans in the area of shooting so that they can give a befitting reply to the terrorists.
