In a reportedly failed assassination bid, a grenade was thrown at the convoy carrying Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday in Hamedan in western Iran, a report in Jerusalem Post stated.

The grenade struck one of the vehicles in a convoy accompanying the Iranian president. Ahmadinejad was not injured in the attack, the report added.

The explosion injured a few journalists who were there to cover Ahmadinejad.
