Asserting that the Tamil Nadu government had no role in the Friday's deportation of Parvathi, mother of slain LTTE leader V Prabhakaran, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Monday said that the state would write to the Centre on allowing her for medical treatment, if she insisted.

"There was no communication to the state government from her or those who had arranged her Indian trip from Malaysia. All the communication was between her and the Centre," Karunanidhi told the state assembly, responding to a special call attention motion.

He said he himself was not informed about her visit and added that neither did the state government had any information.

Quoting reports that she was now undergoing treatment in Malaysia, Karunandih said, "If she insists on coming to Tamil Nadu for treatment, we are ready to consider her case and write accordingly to the Centre".

Karunanidhi said he would apprise the House on whatever reply the Centre would make in this case.

He said the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government had in 2003 written to the Centre demanding blacklisting of Parvathi and her husband, who had left Tiruchirapalli in the state for Sri Lanka in the wake of ceasefire in the island nation and ban for their re-entry into the country.

Earlier opposition parties barring the AIADMK, whose members were not present during the motion, spoke in one voice and criticised the deportation of Parvathi by Indian authorities to Malaysia and demanded that she be allowed medical treatment in the country on humanitarian ground.
