Where Ravan is worshipped

Last updated on: September 28, 2009
Hindus in Kanpur held special prayers to honour the despised mythological demon King Ravana on Monday. The event was organised on the festival of 'Dussehra' that marks the triumph of good over evil. Even as the demon king is vilified and his effigy burnt on the festival, the locals in Kanpur worship and glorify him to honour his intelligence and believe that the praying fulfils all their wishes.
