Pak wants good ties with India: Gilani

September 22, 2009 23:56 IST

Pakistan wants good relations with neighbouring countries, including India, on the basis of equality, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said today.

Addressing a gathering at the circuit house in his hometown of Multan in Punjab province, Gilani said Pakistan wished to resolve differences with India on sharing river waters and the Kashmir dispute through negotiations.

The two nuclear powers should decide to move forward and focus on the well-being of their poverty-stricken people, he said. This will pave the way for a socio-economic revolution in the region, he said.
