BJP seeks all-party meet on China issue

September 17, 2009 22:28 IST

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dr Murli Manohar Joshi has backed Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav's demand that the Centre should convene all-party meeting to discuss the Sino-Indian border issue.

When asked if he would press for a special session of Parliament as suggested by the SP leader, Joshi said that he would consult the party leadership on the issue before commenting.

"Situation on the Chinese border is serious and it needs immediate action by the government. China has eyes on Arunachal Pradesh, besides Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand," Dr Joshi said.

Mulayam asked the Centre to call for a special session on aggressive posture adopted by China.
