Train & Flying the same: Kamal Nath

Last updated on: September 16, 2009
While columnists like M K Bhadrakumar denounce the Congress party and the United Progress Alliance government's current austerity drive, some ministers have a different point of view from the current conventional wisdom in the Congress party and the UPA government.

In New York for a series of meetings this week is Union Minister of Surface Transport Kamal Nath whose travels as the nation's commerce minister in the first UPA government was the subject of much envy among his colleagues.

When rediff.com's Suman Guha Mozumder asked the minister about the austerity drive, Kamal Nath pointed out that flying and train travel almost cost the same in India today. Check out the video.
