Three Naxals killed in Chhattisgarh

Three Naxals, including a woman, were killed in a police encounter in the jungles of Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday, police said.

A team of Central Reserve Police Force and District Force gunned down three Naxals including a woman in an encounter took place in the jungles of Banjepalli village of the district, Dantewada Superintendent of Police, Amresh Mishra told PTI.

The Naxals opened fire on police company when it was patrolling the area, he said, adding that in retaliation three Naxals were killed.

Three uniformed bodies were recovered from the encounter spot after Naxals fled the scene after retaliation, he said. One of the bodies was of a woman, Mishra said. The police recovered a 12 bore rifle and hand grenades etc from the spot, he said.
