Three positive cases of H1N1 flu among students in Delhi has prompted certain schools in the city to shut down classes for a few days from Monday.

Classes of the Central Board of Secondary Education-affiliated Vishwa Bharati Public School in Dwarka, Heritage Grove Public School in Vasant Kunj and Banyan Tree School at Lodhi Colony Institutional area were suspended after three students of the schools tested positive for the H1N1 virus.

Vishwa Bharati Public School in Dwarka has suspended all classes for two days, while Heritage Grove Public School in Vasant Kunj has done the same for a week's time and Banyan Tree School in south Delhi has suspended classes only for Class IX for a week's time, sources in the three schools said.

As a precautionary measure, Banyan Tree School administration has also asked students travelling by the bus in which the H1N1 virus-infected student had traveled also to go on leave for a week.

"We have shut down Class IX for a week after being informed that one of the student of this class tested positive for swine flu virus," said an official with the Banyan Tree School, adding "they have been asked to join school from September 14".
