Murli Manohar Joshi meets RSS chief

September 05, 2009 21:31 IST

In the midst of leadership tussle in BJP, senior party leader Murli Manohar Joshi today held met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and other Sangh leaders in New Delhi, his third interaction with them in a fortnight.

Joshi spent about an hour with the RSS leaders. Sources close to him said he discussed the forthcoming seminar in Mumbai on September 9 and 10 which is being organised by one of the Sangh affiliated bodies.

"The organisers of the seminar were holding a meeting at the RSS office, Keshavkunj, and he was invited to attend it and give his views," a source close to Joshi said.

Interestingly, this seminar is likely to be addressed by several disgruntled BJP leaders including Arun Shourie, who had flayed the BJP leadership, expelled leader Jaswant Singh's son and former MP Manvendra Singh and journalist Swapan Dasgupta.

Sources said other matters concerning BJP came up during his meeting with the RSS chief. Bhagwat had sprung a surprise during his last visit to Delhi when he had a luncheon meeting with Joshi at the latter's residence on August 29. Joshi followed this up by calling on Bhagwat later that evening.
