A Ganesh Nadar finds in Hyderabad that Y S Rajshekhara Reddy was a man of the masses. Reddy's death has resulted in a rash of copycat suicides by Reddy's supporters. People from all over Andhra Pradesh have converged at Hyderabad to pay their last respects to the departed leader. Reddy was kiled in when his helicopter crashed on a hillock in Kurnool.
"Reddy worked for the upliftment of the poor," says Congress worker Sheikh Moinuddin, who was in Hyderabad to pay his respects.
"YSR worked for the farmers and helped by giving them free power," said Mallikarjun, from Hyderabad.
"YSR was like a father to the people of Andhra Pradesh," says Rajeshwar Deshpande from Medak.
YSR's death has sparked a rash of suicides among the youth in Andhra Pradesh.
