Last updated on: September 4, 2009

A landslide in Mumbai killed 12 and injured about 10 people, after heavy rains sent rocks and mud from a hill crashing into a slum late on Thursday.

Nearly two dozen huts were buried in the landslide, which hit the Saki Naka area in Andheri. Fire services were rushed to the spot and rescue workers were still searching for people believed to be trapped under the debris of their homes.
