Officials of the Anti-Corruption Branch questioned a station house officer of the Delhi police, whose premises were raided after allegations that he has amassed assets worth around Rs 20 crore, on Wednesday. The accused officer is yet to be arrested.

Roshan Lal, the SHO of Kalyanpuri police station in east Delhi, met the investigation officers on Wednesday, a day after raids were conducted at his office, residence, and business establishments, which he had allegedly been running in the name of his father and brother.

"He was questioned today but not arrested," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, ACB, I D Shukla.

Asked about the recoveries, a senior police official said the scrutiny of documents was on. "Investigations are on. Right now, we are not in a position to say anything," he said.

Lal, who joined the Delhi police in 1978, allegedly owns several properties in the National Capital Region, three hotels in Paharganj and a cinema hall in Farooqabad in Uttar Pradesh.

The ACB registered cases of amassing assets disproportionate to his income, misconduct, conspiracy and cheating against Lal following investigations into complaints and conducted raids in New Delhi and Farooqabad.

He had served in the ACB for three years from 2003.
