Octopus Commandos, the anti-terror wing in Andhra Pradesh, arrested four suspected Inter-Services-Intelligence agents in Tirupati on Thursday from a private hotel located on the Mangalam road on the outskirts of the temple town.
The arrested have been shifted to Hyderabad for further interrogation on the instructions of the higher authorities. The first commando unit of the Octopus was formally commissioned at Tirumala by former Director General of Police S S P Yadav in view of the increasing threat perception to the pilgrim-choked shrine visited on an average by about 65,000 pilgrims from India and aboard daily.
