Autobiographical e-book to celebrate M F Husain's life

Kickstarting the 95th birthday celebrations of eminent Indian artist Maqbool Fida Husain in advance, an autobiographical e-book titled 'M F Husian – Untitled' will released on November 12 in New Delhi [ Images ].

The e-book gives an insight into 94-year-old M F Husain [ Images ], who is currently in Dubai [ Images ] and has expressed keen desire to return to India [ Images ] soon, and many unknown aspects of his life.

Artist Subodh Gupta will release this first-of-its-kind autobiographical e-book.

The event is being organised by cultural activist Kamna Prasad along with Jiya Prakashan and Moraka Foundation, who has also planned a yearlong campaign called 'M F Husain at 95' as a tribute to the artist.

The same evening, organisers will launch a web-based interface to reach Husain to his lovers and a sustained media campaign to express solidarity for the artist. A short theatrical presentation based on the e-book will follow.

"This e-book is just the beginning. We will take this campaign to every part of the country and all over the world," Kamna said.

"It has been made possible only with the positive response and support from the artists, media and other like minded people across the country. And they are all eager to mark their presence on that day."

The book will be released at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi on November 12 at 6 pm.
