Two Indian Army personnel were injured in a grenade explosion near the Line of Control in Gurez sector of North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Monday, a defence official said.

The incident took place near Nowshhra Nar in Izmarg, 170 km from Srinagar, when the troops were returning to their unit after patrolling along the border, the official said.

The grenade accidentally fell from the hand of a jawan and exploded, critically injuring him and his colleague, the official said, adding that both the injured soldiers were shifted to hospital.
