Brushing aside all queries concerning the health of Shiv sena chief Bal Thackeray, the party on Tuesday said that his health was fine and there was no reason to worry.
"We have received several queries on the Sena chief's health. We wish to make it clear that he is fine and there is absolutely no cause for concern," Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe told PTI in Mumbai.
Asked about the reason over the spurt in queries about the 82-year old Sena chief's health, Gorhe pleaded ignorance.
After over four decades at the helm of the saffron outfit, Thackeray has handed over reigns of the party to son Uddhav, who is party executive president. Over the last months, Thackeray has been confined to his home 'Matoshree' in suburban Bandra, occasionally venturing for medical checkups at a leading hospital in the vicinity.
After being a fixture at the Sena's traditional Dussehra rallies for several years, Thackeray is now forced to address his followers at the party rallies via video message displayed on large screens at the venue.
