With police claiming to have solved the murder of television journalist Soumya Vishwanathan, her family members on Tuesday said they were happy with the investigation in the case.

"I am very happy with the investigation. Police has done a wonderful job. They are doing a proper investigation," Soumya's father M K Vishwanathan said.

Vishwanathan said police has been keeping him informed about the progress of the investigation for the last six months and he has "full faith" in them.

"I have full faith in their investigation," he said hours after police claimed to have cracked the case. With the arrest of four persons, police has claimed to have cracked the Soumya murder case and that of call centre executive Jigisha Ghosh.

Twenty six-year-old Soumya was shot dead on September 30 last year when she was driving from her Jhandewalan office to her Vasant Kunj residence in New Delhi.

Investigation into the Ghosh murder case has led to the Soumya murder trail, police said.
