Varun Gandhi meets RSS leaders

BJP MP Varun Gandhi, who has drawn criticism from within the party for his alleged hate speech in Pilibhit during the Lok Sabha polls, today met state RSS leaders in Lucknow.

While Varun declined to say anything on the meeting RSS Prant Pracharak (Uttar Pradesh) Ashok Beri whom the young MP met confirmed it saying it was a friendly meeting during which BJP's poll debacle was not discussed.

"We exchanged pleasantries over a cup of tea. The poll debacle of the Bharatiya Janata Party was not a part of our discussions,'' he said.

However, a senior BJP leader requesting anonymity said, "Varun discussed various things with the RSS leaders including
the progress of the case pertaining to his hate-speech.''

Sources also said that at the meeting of RSS pracharaks of scheduled to be held in Meerut from July 9 to July 12, will discuss various things pertaining to the BJP's debacle in 2009 general elections and also the Varun factor.
