Subordinate accuses IAS officer of sodomy in Bhopal

June 19, 2009 15:05 IST

A panchayat secretary in Bhopal has accused an Indian Administrative Service officer of trying to forcibly sodomise him in the zilla panchayat office, police said Friday.

In a complaint to the police soon after being caught on camera in suspicious circumstances, Sikandarabad village panchayat secretary under Berasia Tehsil, Satish Chaukse (23) alleged that his superior and Bhopal District Janpad Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gyaneshwar Patil forced him to commit unnatural act after summoning him to the zilla panchayat office at Shamla hills late on Thursday night, police said.

Satish also alleged that Patil, an officer of 2003 batch, had also committed objectionable acts with him in the past, they said.

When contacted Patil rubbished the allegations saying that he was being framed and it was a pre-planned conspiracy against him as he did not accept Choukse's demand for regularising an employee in Bagroda who works under him.

"I remained in the office till late last night and when I entered the bathroom, Choukse started screaming after taking-off his shirt and as I came out, the cameramen suddenly appeared and snapped our photographs," the CEO said.

"Choukse is blackmailing me," Patil alleged.

Earlier, after receiving anonymous calls about the unnatural acts in the office, police and mediamen reached there around 9.30 pm and found Patil and Chaukse in suspicious condition in the bathroom following which cameramen snapped their photographs and showed images on some TV channels, police said.

In the photographs aired on news channels, Patil was not wearing his trousers while Satish was also standing along side him without his shirt in the bathroom, they said.

Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad said that a case in this regard would be registered only after verification of the complaints of Choukse and Patil as both have leveled allegations against each other.

The SP said that while Choukse alleges that he was exploited, Patil claims that he has been framed under a well-planned conspiracy against him to tarnish his image.
