June 18, 2009 14:12 IST

Five fresh cases of suspected swine flu have been reported in Pune during the last two days, hospital authorities said on Friday.

A family of three comprising a 30-year-old woman and her two children who arrived from Singapore were among the five persons admitted to a hospital in Pune.

The remaining two cases were that of two young men coming to Pune from the US.

Their blood samples have been sent for tests to the National Institute of Virology, official sources said. Two cases of suspected swine flu reported a fortnight ago in Pune had subsequently tested negative for the dreaded virus.
