Punjab: Two 'ISI spies' arrested

Special Operation cell of Punjab police on Thursday arrested two alleged accused who were working for the Pakistan-based intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence.

In a release in Amritsar, an official spokesman said that two alleged accused Gurjeet Singh resident of Ferozepur district and Dilbag Singh resident of Amritsar were arrested under the official secret act, for possessing sensitive material related to military installation, photographs, charts, movements of military units, Pakistan telephones numbers in the laptop along with mobile phones of the alleged accused.

During the preliminary investigation of arrested persons, it was revealed that both used to go to Pakistan with Sikh devotees on the pretext to pay obeisance at Sikh shrines in Pakistan, where they allegedly supplied sensitive information regarding to the movements of the Indian army to Pakistan based ISI intelligence agency.

The alleged accused were also getting funds from Pakistan for spying through Hawala transactions.
