Creating a stir in the political circles, the film star-turned-politician and member of Lok Sabha of Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Vijayshanti, on Friday met the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Coming in the backdrop of prevailing confusion and uncertainty in the TRS and increasing questions about the leadership of K Chandrasekhara Rao, the meeting sparked off speculations about the future plans of Vijayshanti who was elected to Lok Sabha from the Medak constituency.

Apart from KCR, Vijayshanti is the only other MP of TRS at present.

However Vijayshanti tried to scotch the rumours by stressing that the purpose of her meeting with the Chief Minister was not political.

"I met him to discuss the problems of the Medak constituency and to thank him for bringing Medak under a railway project," she told the reporters while coming out of CM's office in the state secretariat.

She said that she had no plans to join the Congress party. "If I have to change the political party, I will do it publicly," she said.

"I also requested the Chief Minister that more mandals of Medak district should be brought under the Pranahita-Chevella irrigation project," she said.

Vijayshanti wanted more water for irrigation and drinking facilities in Medak district.

Over than a decade long political career of Vijayshanti has been quiet chequered. She started with the Bharatiya Janata Party, and then launched her own Talli Telangana party before merging it in to the Telangana Rashtra Samiti. But ever since she got elected to Lok Sabha as a TRS candidate, speculations are rife that she was not happy with the state of affairs in the TRS.
