Pakistani gunman Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, lawyers and mediapersons burst into laughter when prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told the special court conducting 26/11 terror trial that he was the lone surviving gunman's "enemy number one."

Nikam's comment in lighter vein was in response to a query posed by Judge M L Tahaliyani to the prosecutor, asking him to explain why he said that Kasab knows him very well.

Following are the excerpts of the conversation between prosecutor and judge during the trial.

Nikam: "Sir, Kasab is denying everything right now."

Judge: But why are you examining witnesses to prove that Kasab was carrying a bag during terror attack at Cama hospital? I do not think he will deny ownership of the bag.

Nikam: He is denying everything right from post-mortem reports to injury certificates of victims. I would not be surprised if Kasab says in the court he is not a Pakistani national and was caught wrongly by Mumbai police.

Judge: No, your assumption is wrong because he has stated before me when I was holding inquiry about his age that he hails from Faridkot in Punjab province of Pakistan.

Nikam: Kasab had said that in response to your question but to me he would give a different reply feigning ignorance about being a Pakistani national. He knows me very well.

Judge: How do you say that he knows you very well?

Nikam: Because, I am his enemy number one.
