JK: Hurriyat to take out massive rally

Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, chairman of All-Party Hurriyat Conference, has claimed that on July 13, the country will witness one of the biggest peaceful protests in their struggle for resolution of problem of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking ­from his residence in Srinagar on phone on late Friday night, he said, "We expect more then 2 lakh people to participate in the demonstration. We will pass a resolution calling for early solution of problem of Jammu and Kashmir. Violence came down in the last two years and there is no reason why India and Pakistan should not sit and resolve the matter with Kashmiris as third party. Earlier India's contention was that violence by terrorists against India from Pakistani soil. Now this excuse does not exist."

Asked if the dismissal of the Omar Abdullah government would not make a difference as demanded by Bhim Singh of the National Panther's party, Mirwaiz said chief minister was merely attending to administrative problems.

"It does not matter whether PDP or it is National Conference, the situation remains the same," he said.

APHC has not yet made up its mind whether or not they would meet US secretary of state Hillary Clinton when she visits India.

"We will deliberate on the issue," Mirwaiz said.

National Pather's party chief Bhim Singh asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to resign in wake of his failure to contain violence in valley early this week.

"Bhim Singh asked Omar Abdullah to resign to save Kashmir from further death and destruction.

Bhim Singh said that Abdullah had no control over the administration and the police are being used as ploy by the enemies of peace and agents of vested interests.
