Fresh violence broke out in Mysore on Thursday when over 500 persons attempted a Jail Bharo programme.

They were protesting the arrest of several persons who were arrested in connection with the communal clashes which rocked the city recently. As a preventive measure, the police have imposed curfew in the city.

The protestors alleged several innocent Muslims, numbering 75 persons, had been arrested. They demanded that they be released.

During the protest, the mob resorted to stone pelting and the police in turn lathi-charged them. Several more persons were also arrested following this fresh incident.
