The First Investigation Report under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against all the policemen involved in the encounter of the Ghaziabad youth, SHO of Raipur police station where the case was lodged said.
An FIR has also been registered against two DSPs Ajay Kumar and G C Tamta on the basis of a complaint of Ranbir's father Rabindra Pal Singh that they roughed up his family members outside the post-mortem house where the autopsy of the slain youth was being done.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank on Monday said his government is ready for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the death of the youth in an alleged "fake encounter."
"I have full faith in the CB-CID. But if the family members of Ranbir want a CBI probe into the matter, we will not shy away from it also," Nishank said after meeting the father of 22-year-old Ranbir Singh, who was killed in an encounter with police in Dehradun on Friday.
Ranbir's father Ravindrapal Singh and other relatives met the Chief Minister at state secretariat this afternoon and demanded a CBI probe into the incident. They also demanded stern action against the "erring" police officials.
