Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament Jaya Prada is confident about winning the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from her constituency Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.

In the 2004 LS polls, she had won by over 78,000 votes, defeating candidates from the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

"I am confident that I will win my seat and return to the 15th Lok Sabha," the former actress told rediff.com in an exclusive interview on Thursday.

The former actress claimed that she had attended the Parliament regularly during the last five years.

When queried about the dismal attendance of various actor-turned-politicians like Govinda and Dharmendra, Jaya retorted, "There are persons from other walks of life who should be asked the same question. Some of them have hardly shown up. It is unfortunate that nobody has highlighted the work done by actor-turned-politician Sunil Dutt," she said.

She spoke highly of SP general secretary Amar Singh, who was instrumental in her entry into politics.

"He stood by us and it is our duty to go along with him. No matter what happens, I will stand by him and the Samajwadi Party," she declared.
