Sena will never desert Hindutva, says Munde

The Bharatiya Janata Party is still confident that the Shiv Sena will never divorce it in Maharashtra and both the Sena and the BJP will contest all the polls together. This was an indication given by the BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde while speaking to media persons at Thane on Sunday on the ongoing changed equations between the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party.

Munde said that the Sena will never make the mistake of having a poll alliance with the NCP. Replying to questions relating to the meeting between Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thakeray at Delhi, Munde said that this was just a farce and there was no meeting at all between the two leaders.

"I know Pawar very well, he is capable of floating all kinds of rumours to achieve his goal and he can go to any extent in politics," Munde said.

"The alliance between the BJP and Sena is a life long one," Munde said, adding that he was confident that the Sena supremo Bal Thackeray will never give up the alliance with BJP and desert the Hindutva policy.

He added that if needed he would personally visit Matoshree, Bal Thackeray's residence, to convince Balasaheb about the alliance; and advised that Uddhav should not be carried away by the tactics of Pawar.
