Parliament to discuss Liberhan today

The Liberhan Commission''s Report on the Babri Mosque demolition and the Action Taken Report (ATR) will be discussed in Parliament on Monday.

Lok Sabha Speaker, Meira Kumar said the discussion would be held under Rule 193 that does not entail voting.

The BJP and the Samajwadi Party are expected to raise the issue of former prime minister  PV Narasimha Rao being given a clean chit in the report. The BJP is also expected to focus on the report's indictment of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the report.

Earlier, the business advisory committee decided that the discussion would be held on December 9 and 10 but it has been advanced by two days as the Hindi version of the report was tabled in the House on Thursday. In view of this, a discussion on Naxalism and the Maoist violence, slated for Monday, has also been postponed.
