Assam: Two terrorists surrender to BSF

Two terrorists, one each from the banned United Liberation Front of Asom and Karbi Longri North Cachar Liberation Front  (KLNLF) surrendered with arms and ammunition before the Inspector General of the Border Security Force, Prithvi Raj in Shillong on Tuesday.

A BSF spokesman informed that ULFA member Gobin Ojha alias Kiran Jyoti Gogoi who was a member of the 28th battalion of the banned outfit surrendered with one 7.65 mm pistol and five rounds of ammunition.

The KLNLF member who also surrendered, was identified as Arun Terong alias John Mukran alias Mukran Terong from Hanse Basti of Karbi Anglong didtrict in Assam. He had joined KLNLF in December 2000.Terong was involved in two bomb blasts in November 2007 in Diphu in Karbi Anglong besides various incidents of extortion, killing and  kidnappings.Terong surrendered along with one 9 mm pistol, four rounds of 9 mm ammunition and one round of AK series ammunition.
