One killed in firing at Ludhiana station

One person was killed and two security personnel were injured when a passenger opened fire in a Jammu-bound train in Ludhiana on early hours of Tuesday.

The incident took place in the Jammu-bound Jhelum express during a routine security check by the railway security personnel.

The city police managed to nab the culprit identified as Balbeer Singh and have recovered a .30 bore Chinese made pistol from him.

The police are investigating the matter to ascertain the immediate provocation behind the incident.
