A Chennai-bound Indian flight from Singapore with 132 passengers onboard on Saturday landed under emergency conditions at the airport in Chennai after one of its tyres burst minutes before touch down.

The plane made a safe landing at the Meenambakkam airport and all the passengers were safe, airport sources said.

The sources said minutes before landing, the pilot of the aircraft had noticed that one of the rear tyres had burst and informed the air traffic controller about the mishap.

Consequently, arrangements were made for the safe landing of the flight, they said. The aircraft was later towed to an adjacent bay to set right the problem.
