'Jaswant's expulsion won't affect Gorkhaland'

The Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) today refused to be drawn into the expulsion of Darjeeling MP Jaswant Singh from BJP, saying the development would not affect its movement for Gorkhaland statehood.

"The BJP's decision to expel Singh is party's internal matter. Our alliance is with the BJP," GJM general secretary Roshan Giri said when contacted in Darjeeling over phone.

The GJM, which backed Singh during the Lok Sabha polls, made it clear that it was banking on the support of BJP in its movement for Gorkhaland statehood.
