Bengaluru cops arrest 7 for attack on UTV office

Seven members belonging to gangster Ravi Poojari's group were arrested on charges of an attack on the UTV office in Bangalore belonging to producer Ronnie Screwala.

The Bangalore police also recovered several weapons including pistols apart from mobile phones and vehicles belonging to the accused. The arrested are: 30-year old Giriraj, 24-year-old Nagendra Prasad, 23-year-old Sunil Kumar, 23-year old John Naveen, 24-year-old Nayeem Pasha, 23-year old Sayir Ali and 23-year old Shappu, Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Shankar Bidari said.

Nine cases have been registered against the accused which include, extortion and black mail. A month ago, the UTV office in Bangalore was attacked by a couple of gangsters. The men who carried out the attack claimed to be the members of the Ravi Poojary gang. Poojary is criminal wanted in several cases of extortion.
