Pakistan has neither admitted that four of the nine terrorists who carried out the Mumbai terror attacks were its nationals nor has asked India for their bodies, Pakistan foreign office has said.
Earlier, a section of the media in India reported that Pakistan asked for dead bodies out of nine terrorists that were killed during the terror attack.
Terming the news baseless, Pakistan foreign office spokesperson Abdul Basit told rediff.com, "Pakistan has neither accepted nor asked for the four dead bodies of Mumbai terror attack."
He said that the report is "totally incorrect" and such baseless news appears in India every day. It was reported that Maharashtra Home Minister Jayant Patil said Pakistan owned up four of the nine terrorists.
He said that Pakistan should accept the bodies of all nine terrorists and hoped to solve this matter in 10 days.
Responding, Basit said, "Pakistan did not approach India in this regard and the matter was not discussed at any level."
