The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday suspended 16 Noida Authority officials, including three IAS officers in connection with the 2006's Noida land scam.
The IAS officials suspended for their alleged involvement in the 4721-crore-rupee scam are Rakesh Bahadur, Sanjeev Sharan and Ravindra Naik.
A retired IAS officer Devdutt was also named in this connection.
According to sources, the government has directed the concerned authorities to lodge criminal cases against the officials who were involved in providing land at cheaper rates at Noida for construction of five-star hotels before the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The action comes after Supreme Court took cognisance of the scam when land was allotted under the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav regime.
