An incident of ragging has come to light in a prominent college in the national capital with a fresher claiming that he was attacked by two seniors in a hostel. The incident was reported from the hostel of Kirori Mal College on Sunday evening when a first year B.Sc student was ragged allegedly by two third year students Akshay Chaudhary and Hani Mohammad.

College Principal Bhim Sen Singh said the victim reported the matter to the hostel warden on Sunday evening and the complainant as well as the accused have asked to appear before the institution's disciplinary committee. Noting that it is a "very serious" allegation, he said he has recommended dismissal of both the students from the college, which will also lodge a police complaint against them.

"I will ensure toughest possible action against them for it will set an example to other students not to dare ragging juniors," he said. The victim, who was allegedly ragged for about 30 minutes, has now moved out of the hostel and is staying with his local guardian, Singh said adding they have sealed the room where the incident took place.
